I have thick large calfs and have always found it hard to find a wide calf boot that fits. This one almost does. I kept these boots because, on the top near the zipper there is about and inch and a half leather stretch band that I can have stretched out.The outside leather boot is soft, but sturdy and the inside of the boot has a short fux lining from the calf to the toes but not on the bottom of the foot of shoe. The shoe fits true to size. I wear a 7/5 wide and did not need to go up to and 8, which I sometimes do with boots. I ware these boots couple of hours a day and have no pain or discomfort with them. However, if I was to ware the boots all day, I would consider inserting a thin sole cushion, because there isn't much of one in the boots. Overall, the boot appears to be well constructed and comfortable, but pricey.
