I was looking all over for wide calf boots without the zipper because usually they are bigger and have stretch, however I came across these and decided to give them a try and I'm happy I did. My calf is 21 inches and they zip up snug on me. Perfect fit. It never felt like the zipper would bust or anything like that. I both walked for a while and stood for extended periods of time in these boots and they are comfortable. Suggestion, wear those little stocking socks similar to the ones you try shoes on with in shoe stores, only they're a little thicker. Ladies I think you know what I'm referring to. Lol I had already owned a pair of heels this brand so I figured they would be comfortable to walk in, but the true test would be if I could get the boot zipped over my calf and I could! Love them! I bought a 12. I must say it feels like an 11 though. But that's a good thing because I really wear an 11. I just decided to see what the difference in sizing of the calf part. I purchased a sz11 and a sz12. However a sz8 was sent to me instead of an 1, so I was never able to see the difference, but all in all it worked out because the 12 was a perfect fit for me. Great construction of the boot and I love the buckle on it.
